This is my first time taking ceramics class. I wheel throw these three pieces of cup, bowl, and plate with little animal figures in it. They all looks normal outside, but my intention is to surprise users when they look inside of these pieces. I am inspired by a photo I found on the internet which reminded me of a mug I had when I was little. There was a small cartoon figure out of the mug connected with the bottom. I liked it so much but accidentally broke it. So when I saw this photo with small animals inside, I felt like it is cute and also not easy to break them inside. I sculpted 3D little animals such as turtles in the center of the inside. I used glaze to add suitable colors that related to these figures --- green for turtle. The color and texture of the first two, the bowl and the plate, come out a little bit different from what I expected. But the tough texture of the surroundings somehow remind me of turtles on the beach. Elements of ceramics is a wonderful experience for my senior year.
